Kids Behavior Points and Pocket Money App

Rewards Kids is an easy to use app that lets your kids earn points for good behavior and lets parents and children track their pocket money.

Track Kids Good Behavior

With Rewards Kids, your children can earn points in return for good behavior or for completing chores. For example, you can set up a point category to give 20 points to your kids if they make their bed when they wake up.

Similar to a Sticker Chart, but far more engaging for the child because the value of different chores or tasks can be truly valued.

Children can request points themselves for completing tasks - parents/guardians are then notified on their phones to approve these before they are added to the child's total.

Once kids have collected points, they can exchange those points for rewards that you define

Pocket Money / Allowance Tracking

Rewards Kids also features a virtual piggy bank.

Parents can add money to their kids accounts whenever they like, or set up an automated schedule to add pocket money/allowance on a weekly basis. Different amounts can be scheduled for each child, so that allowances can grow as your children do.

Money can be tagged with category labels and an optional description can be set. This makes it easy to remember why money was added, eg "a birthday gift from Grandpa Jo".

Kids can withdraw money (with parental approval) at any time, with withdrawals also tagged with an optional description, eg 'bought Lego'.

Note that Rewards Kids is not a real bank, so no actual money is transferred - it's up to parents to save the money!

Parent/Guardian and Child Apps

All features of the Rewards Kids App are available for a parent/guardian to use on their own phone/tablet. Parents/Guardians set up the children in their family and each child's points/money can be managed through an easy to use interface.

Optionally, the Rewards Kids app can also be installed on your children's own phone/tablets so that they can track their points/money themselves. Children can request points / money at any time, but will require parents to approve on their phone/tablet before it is added to their totals. Parents receive approval requests via Apple Notifications.

Children do not need their own email addresses. Instead, "Rewards Kids" can generate a family sharing code on the parent device that a child can use to login as their profile on their device keeping them safe and secure.

As long as all parents/guardians/kids are in the same Apple Family Sharing circle, the app only needs to be purchased once per family!

Screen Time Integration

Rewards Kids includes device Screen Time features that are optimized for children.

Leveraging the official Apple Screen Time API, our app allows parents to use their phone to easily set and monitor daily Screen Time limits for their children. Unlike the built-in Apple Screen Time app, Rewards Kids makes it really easy to extend Screen Time on a case by case basis - for example, you can give a child an extra 15 minutes as a reward for good behavior.

Rewards Kids lets children use their app to request exchanging behavior points for extra screen time. Parents can approve these requests with a single tap on their device./p>

Rewards Kids is based on the concept of
"Behavioral Positive Reinforcement"

#

"Positive reinforcement is a powerful tool for shaping and maintaining desirable behavior in children. By consistently rewarding positive actions, caregivers can effectively encourage good behavior and reduce problematic behaviors."

Kazdin, A.E. (2001) Behavior Modification in Applied Settings. Waveland Press.

#

"Consistent use of positive reinforcement fosters improved social and emotional behaviors in children. When children are rewarded for positive interactions and behaviors, they are more likely to repeat those behaviors and develop better social skills."

Schneider, B.H., Cavell, T.A., & Hughes, J.N. (2003). Social and Emotional Development in Children. Springer.

#

"Positive reinforcement through Parent-Child Interaction Therapy has been shown to significantly reduce disruptive behaviors in children. This approach emphasizes rewarding positive behavior, which strengthens the parent-child relationship and promotes long-term behavioral improvement."

Eyberg, S.M., & Bussing, R. (2010) Parent-Child Interaction Therapy for Disruptive Behavior. Springer.
